Safety Data Sheet

Product Information

Osmo Garden Furniture Oil protects, maintains and enhances the wood surface, producing a smooth satin finish which is water resistant and dirt repellent.

The wood can breathe thanks to the natural veggie oils in the microporous finish, which also helps control moisture levels to prevent swelling and shrinkage. The penetrated finish is also resistant to cracking, flaking, peeling, and blistering. High-quality, long-lasting defence while allowing the wood's appearance to gradually deteriorate into a lovely patina hue.

Osmo Garden Furniture Oil Clear Satin 028 1 Litre Preparation

Before the initial Osmo Garden Furniture Oil treatment, wood species with a high concentration of natural wood extractives must weather off for at least 4 weeks or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner. (degreaser). Larch or Douglas fir timber, which contains resin, must weather off for at least six weeks. It takes at least three months for pressure-impregnated timber, such as Massaranduba, Bangkirai, or Garapa, to weather off.

Before using Osmo Garden Furniture Oil, use Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel to remove any existing gloom from the wood. Clean, dry, and frost-free wood surfaces with a maximum moisture level of 20% are required. Ready to use Osmo Garden Furniture Oil.

Prior to application, thoroughly clean, gently sand old microporous stains, or fully remove old varnishes. When sanding, always utilise a dust mask. Please apply the first coat before installation, if at all feasible, to all sides. If extra defence against blue stain, rot, and insect attack is desired, pre-treat the wood with Osmo WR Impregnation, preferably on all sides.

The state of the wood is one of many variables that affect the final surface. A test application is therefore always necessary, particularly for uncharted surfaces.

Application

Apply thinly and uniformly to the dry, clean wood surface using an Osmo Flat Brush or a lint-free cloth.

Working with timber grain is a must. Spread equally and thinly. Keep a good flow of air while drying. Apply a second, equally thin layer after that.

Maintenance

Regular Cleaning: Damp cleaning with Osmo Decking Cleaner using Osmo Decking Cleaning Brush.

Occasional Maintenance: If necessary, intensive cleaning and refreshing using Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel or Osmo Gard Clean ( for green growth) .

Recoating: Simply re-apply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.

Osmo Garden Furniture Oil Clear Satin 028 1 Litre Additional Information

Osmo Garden Furniture Oil is clear; therefore it offers no UV protection (greying). Due to their surface properties, ribbed or rough saw wood surfaces absorb more product. Many wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives which may leach out naturally when weathered.
